Vogler Ford and Boys & Girls Clubs of Carbondale Work to Raise Funds at test-drive event
Carbondale, IL – Vogler, Boys & Girls Clubs of Carbondale and members of the local community helped raise $1820.00 for the Boys & Girls Clubs’ mentoring and programs for youth at a recent test-drive event, as part of Ford Motor Company’s Drive 4 UR Community program. Nearly 100 people in the Carbondale area drove a Ford vehicle at Vogler Ford on October 6th. Vogler and Ford and Ford Motor Company donated $20 per test-drive, with funds going toward programs for academic success, character and citizenship and healthy lifestyles.
In an effort to go further, Ford developed the Drive 4 UR Community program, which is modeled after the successful Drive 4 UR School program. To date, Vogler has helped raise over $122,000 for schools and organizations in our market area
“I am more than thrilled that so many people from the local community turned out to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carbondale, and I am proud to be a Ford Dealer. Participants had the chance to take a fun, casual drive in one of our vehicles, while lending youth in the community a much-needed helping hand,” “said Tim Hirsch, Sales Manager at Vogler Ford Motor Company.
“In order to meet all of the needs of the over 1300 youth we serve each year, finding creative ways to fundraise is imperative,” said Tina Carpenter, CEO at Boys & Girls Clubs of Carbondale. “The money from Ford will make a difference to our local youth and community and it says a lot about who they are as a company. The money raised on 10/6/18 will help continue to provide programs in leadership and service; education and STEM; college and career readiness; health and wellness; the arts; and sports and recreation.
