One new COVID-19 case reported in Jackson County
One new confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported to Jackson County Health Department over the past
24 hours. The individual is a female in her fifties, who acquired the disease through contact with
another known case. She is being placed in isolation.
To date, there have been 322 confirmed cases in Jackson County, including eighteen deaths related to
COVID-19. A total of 284 individuals have been released from isolation thus far. Twenty active cases
are currently being managed.
If you have a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle aches, loss of taste or smell, nausea or
diarrhea, call your health care provider for further guidance. Three providers are conducting COVID-19
testing of eligible individuals in Jackson County: Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) – Call 1-844-988-7800;
Shawnee Health Service – Call 618-519-9200; and SIU Center for Family Medicine – Call 618-536-6621.
