One death and three new COVID-19 positives in Jackson County
Jackson County Health Department sadly announces the death of a female in her nineties who was
previously confirmed to have COVID-19. Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.
In addition, the health department was notified in the past 24 hours of three Jackson County residents
confirmed to have contracted COVID-19. The individuals are as follows:
• Female – One in her twenties, and one in her fifties;
• Male – One under 10.
All acquired the disease through close contact with a known case, or through transmission in the
community (i.e., unable to trace back to a known source). They are being placed in isolation.
To date, there have been 308 laboratory confirmed cases in Jackson County, including twelve deaths
related to the disease. Three more individuals were released from isolation in accordance with CDC
guidelines, bringing the total released to 259 individuals. Thirty-seven active cases are currently being
