One COVID-19 related death in Jackson County
Jackson County Health Department sadly announces one death related to COVID-19. The individual is a
male in his sixties, who was previously confirmed to have acquired the disease.
The health department was not notified in the past 24 hours of any new cases in Jackson County. To
date, there have been 320 confirmed cases in Jackson County, including eighteen deaths related to
COVID-19. One more individual was released from isolation in accordance with CDC guidelines, bringing
the total released to 273 individuals. Twenty-nine active cases are currently being managed.
If you have a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle aches, loss of taste or smell, nausea or
diarrhea, call your health care provider for further guidance. Three providers are conducting COVID-19
testing of eligible individuals in Jackson County: Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) – Call 1-844-988-7800;
