These reception style events give Chamber members a chance to open their business up to the community and invite fellow businesspersons in. Showcase your facility, share your products and services, and have a good time! Many of our members supply appetizers and beverages for these events and create an atmosphere that is prime for networking, mixing and mingling! This open house style event allows businesses to highlight what they’d like, depending on their interests. The Chamber of Commerce promotes the event and encourages members to support and patronize the Chamber member business.

The monthly membership luncheons give our Chamber members an opportunity to meet new Chamber members, enjoy a fine meal, and learn about a topic pertinent to the business community. Topics this year include ways to save energy and money, the financial impact of music and the arts events on our local economy, and developing next generation leaders. Bring a business card to enter for a chance to win door prizes. Attendees are encouraged to sit by someone new, strike up a conversation, and build relationships. Members of the Board of Directors and the Leadership Carbondale program attend. Luncheons are on the second Tuesday of the month at 12 PM at the Carbondale Civic Center at 200 S. Illinois Avenue.

The annual Fun Day Golf Scramble is a chance for Chamber of Commerce members to create teams with their co-workers and comrades and enjoy a day out on the green. This event is chock full of opportunities to promote business with donating prizes, hole sponsorships, signage, and more. This time is good for networking and meeting new people over the grill, in between holes, or over a meal. There are prizes, snacks, breakfast and lunch, and of course, the chance to win and have bragging rights until the next year. Fun Day is on the first Friday in the month of June.

This yearly evening event honors local businesses and leaders in the categories of Business of the Year, Business Leader of the Year, Regional Business of the Year, and Citizen of the Year. A President’s Award is also given to a person of the Board President’s choice who’s made a postive impact on the community and is inovlved with the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce. The Annual Banquet is planned by a subcommittee of the Ambassadors. This event is also a fundraiser for scholarships that are awarded to Carbondale Community High School Students who will attend Southern Ilinois University. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses who wish to promote themselves among the best and brightest of our community. With fine cuisine and beverages, the chance to win fine prizes from regional establishments, and quality entertainment and networking opportunities,this event is always an evening to remember. The annual banquet is on the last Friday in the month of January.
