Edwin Linson was a member of the popular doo-wop group Blend. After the group ended, Linson began a solo career. He performs at The Varsity on Dec. 9.
Edwin Linson of Carterville might be better known to Southern Illinois audiences as a member of the a cappella doo-wop group, Blend. After many successful years, Blend wrapped up its farewell tour in early 2018.
Since then, Edwin’s solo career has taken him around the country. He returns to Southern Illinois for a concert at The Varsity on Sunday, Dec. 9. He’ll perform hits from artists such as Sam Cooke, The Platters, Al Green and Elvis Presley, as well as some Christmas music. Edwin’s soulful voice and youthful energy is sure to entertain and evoke wonderful memories.
Come ring in the season with a mix of holiday music and classic hits of the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s at The Varsity. The show begins at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. Tickets are $15 at the door when doors open, or $12 in advance at www.thevarsitycenter.eventbrite.com. Tickets are not sold in advance at the venue.
