The Stage Company’s first production of the 2017-2018 season is sure to be a crowd-pleaser! It has a big barbecue competition, singing and dancing, and star-crossed lovers. Who could ask for anything more?
So if you are looking for some entertainment with a side dish of down-home fun, come on out and see the show!
More about the play: “Char-crossed lovers ” Ronny and Julie find themselves at the Verona National Ribfest barbecue competition where their families are competing for the top prize. With a cast of seven diverse characters and a story that features the antics of two feuding barbecue families a la Romeo and Juliet, No Bones About It promises to be full of love and music with a much happier ending than Shakespeare’s play.
From the director: "No Bones About It is a fun and entertaining show. Who would have thought to bring competitive barbecue and a theme similar to that of Romeo and Juliet together into a musical? It's a production that has never been done in Southern Illinois and has only been produced a couple times in the entire United States. Finding a show like that allows you to have a significant amount of creative freedom and the ability to put something fresh and exciting onstage for the first time. It will be fun for all ages.”
