There will be fun around every corner at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s 11th annual Haunted Hollow.
The popular fall family fun festival at Touch of Nature Environmental Center is from 1-4 p.m., on Sunday Oct. 27. Children and their families are invited to enjoy activities throughout the afternoon. The event will go on, rain or shine, so organizers encourage participants to dress accordingly for the weather.
A haunted hayride, a kid-friendly haunted cabin, interpretive nature hikes, and a portable climbing wall are just a few of the planned activities. Those attending will also get to learn about and hold snakes, lizards and other critters. All events are appropriate and suitable for all ages.
A parent or guardian should accompany children. Touch of Nature is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible.
The deadline for advance registration is Friday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. Tickets are $7 for those ages 14 and older and $5 for children ages 6-13. Children age five and younger are free.
