For Kids' Sake Closing Art Reception
For Kids’ Sake, a non-profit organization that fundraises for orphans and students in Bangladesh, is hosting a Closing Art Reception at John A. Logan College on December 12, 2017 from 4pm-6pm. The reception highlights the remarkable paintings of Kamal Talukder, who was a deaf artist from rural Bangladesh.
Through word of mouth, Kamal heard about the For Kids' Sake program and our annual Art Auction. Inspired to support the program, he sent his art to the For Kids’ Sake headquarters in Carbondale, where it is sold. In life, Kamal supported his family entirely with his artwork. Since his passing in spring of 2013, For Kids' Sake holds the last of his inspiring art collection. The sale of his art continues to support the children in Bangladesh, as well as his family.
The upcoming reception is also a chance to browse beautiful, handcrafted gift items from Bangladesh. All proceeds from the gift sales will go to supporting orphans and children in Bangladesh.
Everyone is invited to support the kids while viewing vibrant art, enjoying free refreshments, and buying unique gifts for this holiday season.
